A story of a legend, The Legend of Peace [TLP]

It was a warm evening in May, the sun was shining brightly and yet everything was quiet.
No wind in the bushes, no birds singing in the sky. The only sound I could hear was the sound of my own heartbeat and the occasionally growling sound of my stomach. I hadn’t eaten in days and even though there was a small creek in the guildhall I couldn’t bring myself to drink from it.

You want to know the reason why I can’t bring myself to drink out of the creek? Alright I guess you have the right to know. Look good at the colour of the water, what do you see? Exactly the water is red, red from the blood of my fallen comrades. They where such fools thinking they could defy the mighty gods. Well I hope Grenth will be more merciful than his right hand man.

Why don’t you sit down than I’ll tell you the complete story.

I guess it began several months ago. During that time this guild was known as The Legend of Peace. Never understood why we choose that name seeing that our guild was almost all the time fighting with other guilds. Nevertheless, this guildhall was always crowded with people. Guild members, friends and members of allied guilds. It was always so noisy, sometimes I imagined how it would be of they all disappeared. So I could finally enjoy the beauty of the guildhall. Funny isn’t it? How things you wish for can turn out so differently.

It was around that time that something called botting became more and more popular. I believe it was some sort of device that would do things for you while you could just sit back and relax. It sounded like it was really easy but unfortunately the gods had forbidden the use of these kind of devices. I’m not a really religious guy myself but I thought it was boring. Gaining things while I didn’t do anything to get them. It was this attitude that saved me.

Well more and more members started using these bots to do all kind of things. Apparently one of these “bots” could vanquish Mount Qinkai. Bringing back all spoils while the owner was sleeping or reading magazines of some sort, I believe it was called “Play-Boy” whatever that means. Anyway we all knew it was dangerous but there where more benefits than drawbacks.

How ignorant we felt when the “incident” happened. Who expected that the gods would sent Dhuum to deal with the ones using bots. At first people started disappearing, only to be found bloody and lifeless somewhere else. At some point over a thousand people had disappeared and the ones that where found back… it still sends shivers around my spine thinking about those pictures in the newspapers. Never we had seen such a slaughtering. And whoever it was he was able to annihilate whole guilds at a time.

And so we started making war preparations. We didn’t know who our opponent was but we where sure we could handle it. *sight* the fools that we where. That three days ago he finally came. We where prepared for anything, at least we thought. How could we, simple mortals ever dream about beating a god. Alright we had done it before, but that god was sealed and unable to use his full power.


No, the new right hand man of Grenth stood before us, Dhuum! We all tried to fight him but he was just to strong. He slaughtered us all and we where unable to do anything. His final victim was our great leader. The one that accepted us even though we where seen as outcasts by the rest of the world. The one that had taken care of me from the moment I knew her. You have no idea how weak I felt when he killed her and I was unable to do anything to safe her. For her I would have given my life. Right before Dhuum killed her she looked at me and smiled. “This is the end for me. Take care.” those where her final words. Right after that she casted her final spell. An enormous ball of fire engulfed Dhuum. Chasing him of to the mists. Than the fireball took the shape of a phoenix. At the time I didn’t know why but I’m starting to understand.

I think that she meant this wasn’t the end. It’s just an other beginning.

Like the phoenix we’ll rise, stronger and more beautiful than ever. The Legend of Peace will rise again!
