Hoi, De guide is in het engels omdat dat de originele taal is waarin ik hem heb geschreven op therangersbeacon.com
Ik praat voor groten deels over rangers, Maar de meeste dingen gelden ook voor andere characters.
Step 1:To start off make a ranger which the name, length and other stuff you desire.
Step 2:You'll spawn in Ascalon, Now the first thing you need to do is /bonus.
If you bought "Guildwars Game of the Year" edition you'll probably get a bunch of weapons, they include a nevermore flatbow which has perfect stats.
This would be ideal for use.
If you get a bow with sort of claws and a glacial blade, you'll probably bought the pre release of EoTN this bow also has max status which can also be used.
If you have bought one of your games on the internet you'll receive Igneous Summoning Stone which can also be retrieved using /bonus.
If you bought 2 or all 3 of these things you'll probably will get all of those then.
Step 3:Now you have you character done and set you need to take the quest called The Rangers Test, You can accept this one receiving your first 2 skills, Power Shot and Troll Unguent.
DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER QUESTS!If you are going for level 20 it's import to NOT accept them, You can take quests but not accept them.
Now you have your first 2 skills it's time to receive all of the ranger skills and some of the skills you might want to use from other classes.
The following skills are available for rangers in pre searing.
Charm animal And Comfort Animal.Who gives it: Ranger Master Nente
Where: Regent Valley
What Quest: The Ranger's Companion
Further Notes: Noone
Dual Shot And Ignite Arrows.Who gives it: Aidan
Where: Wizard Folley
What Quest: Unnatural Growths
Further Notes: He may be hard to find.
Point Blank Shot And Read The WindWho gives it: Ivor Trueshot
Where: Regent Valley
What Quest: A Test of Marksmanship
Further Notes: Noone.
Step 4:First you want to do is getting some better armor, more bags and of course leveling up and get more money.
There is no actual buyable armor available in pre searing, however there is collecters armor which has slight more armor.
Masks are now also available with the update which brought in Nicholas, I will come back on him further on.
On the motto "a good start is half the work" getting collecter armor would be the first thing to do, It will give you an advantage with every thing you'll do.
You will need a few Collecter Items getting these armor pieces.
I list them here.
Simple MaskCost: 50 Red Iris Flowers
Collector : Professor Yakkington
Where:
The Secret garden in Regent Valley
Further Info: This is probably the hardest to get since you'll need 50 flowers, You'll also need 50 flowers for Small Equipment pack, I will also come back on this later.
First thing to do it going to Ashford Abbey.
There are 2 Red Iris flowers close to Asford Abbey.
They are located somewhere here:
What you need to do is keep walking to these 2 and picking them up then /resign and keep on going till you have like 100 (or 50 if you only want the mask)
If you are lazy you can just buy them for 20 each, however this is not advised since you'll probably wont have much money and it'll be better saving it for better stuff such as runes.
Krytan VestCost: 3 Grawl Necklaces.
Collector : Kaylee
Where:
Further Info: One of the easiest, just kill some grawl, easiest found close to Ashford Abbey close to the wurm field.
Krytan LeggingsCost: 3 Spider Legs
Collector : Varis
Where:
Further Info: Go to Fort Ranik, outside there you can take the quest "The Orchard" This will spawn lots of spiders, kill those for 3 spider legs.
Krytan GlovesCost: 3 Icy Lodestones
Collector : Savich
Where:
Further Info: Go to Wizard Folley and kill Ice Elementals.
Krytan BootsCost: 3 'Baked Husks
Collector : Jacobs
Where:
Further Info: Easy, go outside Ashford Abbey and kill some level 0 worms.
Next thing to get is more space in your Inventory.
Belt pouch is the first thing you'll probably had in your mind, They are easy to get for 5 worn belts or skale fins.
The Worn belt collecter is in the small village close to Ashford abbey called : Brownlow.
The Skale Fin collecter is close to Ascalon called : Humphreys
Now you'll probably collected 100 Red Iris Flowers, you spend 50 to Simple mask, now you have 50 left you go to yackinton again and trade your last 50 Red Iris Flowers for a Small Equipment Pack.
You can put all your weapons and armor in the Small Equipment Pack.
You have about 1.2k?, there are green things called "Charr Bags" They are dropped by charr bosses and they are usable bags which hold 10 items, they are about 500-700g and for people keeping a lot junk (me) is it highly advised to buy 2 of these, you can put them in your bag slots.
Step 5:Now you have all your stuff ready it's time to level yourself from level 1 to level 20 (or lower)
Leveling from level 1 to 5 is really easy.
There is a quest in Wizard Folley, it's called the Elementalist Experiment and it's given by Elementalist Aziure
She is located here:
You'll go here and take the quest, accept the elementalist skills which are, Fire Storm, Aura of Restoration and glyph of lesser energy.
Now 3 groups of level 1 ice elementals will spawn, you'll need to wait till they all gathered around you, use Troll Unguent to keap your health up.
The first 3 groups gathered and now you do Fire Storm they should die inmidiatly after casting.
Now you teleport to Foible's Fair abadon the quest and do it over till you are level 5.
Step 6:Now your level 5 and you won't gain any XP from level 0 and 1.
You go to prince Rurik in Ascalon, He will give you the quest "Charr at the Gate" Accept this, now zone outside of Ascalon.
You will find prine rurik with a monk and a warrior, he will run to the gate to The Northlands (explained further on) run after him, There will spawn 4 level 5 charr which are very easily to kill since you have a monk supporting you and Prince Rurik uses Hundred Blades which makes it easy to kill them.
Teleport to Ascalon, Abadon the quest and do it all over till your level 10-11.
Step 7:Your now about level 10, You will no longer get XP from level 5 creatures(or very less).
The only way to gain expiernce now is to kill Charr in The Northlands.
The Northlands is the area where you need 2 people to open the gate.
There are a about 8 Charr groups of lvl 7 Charrs, There also are 4 level 10 Charr bosses.
You can easily kill these as long as you are with a buddy.
Kill them, And take a ID Kit with you if you can.
If you get a purple drop or a Blue Armor you can ID it, It would give you a nice amount of money.
The Charr bosses also drop Charr Salvage kits and Charr Bags.
Charr Salvage Kits are the only Salvage Kits in Pre Searing which make it able to rune your armor.
Charr Bags sell at 500-700g ea.
Charr Salvage Kits sell at 5-6k each.
Watch out with Charr Salvage Kits for the amount of uses it has left, 1 Use is about 1k and a kit has 5 uses.
Some people will try to sell you a kit with like 1 use left for 5k.
You will need to do this together till level 14.
Step 8:Your now level 14, You will no longer gain XP from fighting Charrs with 2 people.
You will need to hire a Gate Monkey or have a second account to open the gate.
A Gate Monkey is a person who opens the Gate to The Northlands for you for about 50-100g
You will kill the Charrs untill your level 16.
Step 9Your now level 16, You will nor gain XP for charr even not solo.
This will be one of the lamest moment in your entire guildwars history.
DEATHLEVELING.
You will need to lure a lot of groups of charr to the res shrine and die, over and over, untill the charrs are a really high level so you gain XP from them again.
Do this untill your level 19, at level 19 take all the quests I asked you to not take yet.
Congratiolations your now a LDoA.
Further InformationIn pre searing it is possible to get Drunkard, Party Animal or Sweet tooth.
Drunkard, Is possible to get with the following minigame.
It's called the bear hunters, The only thing you'll need to do is kill a bear then return his pelt in order to get a hunters ale.
In the past Party Animal and Sweet tooth were only possible during festivals, This has changed since an update a long time ago.
You now can get Gift of the Huntsman, per day you can get 5 per account.
Outside of Fort Ranik at the same place where you get your simple mask and Small Equipment Pack.
He is called Nicholas The Huntsman, The same as Nicholas the Traveler but just in pre searing.
Per day he will collect a different item, There is a list of it on wikipedia.
Out of those Gifts you can get:
5 Hunters Ales
5 Aged Hunters Ales
5 Sparklers
5 champagne Poppers
5 Bottle Rockets
5 Jars of Honey
5 Honeycombs
This is the fastest way to get Party animal, Drunkard or Sweet Tooth.
You can also sell them for about 300-350g each, Which will get you about 1.5k per day if you have 1 account.
For getting a pet it's the smartest to think what you want to get.
It's the smartest to get a Strider, Since they are deathlevelable.
Just note that the pet your going to charm can't be more then 4 levels higher then you.
This is about everything I can tell you about Pre Searing, If you have any more questions you can PM me ingame with Een Stuiver.
